Description / Abstract
This project seeks to characterize the cellular interactions within the tumor microenvironment that lead to polarization of macrophages, away from the tumor-fighting M1 phenotype and towards the tumor growth promoting M2 phenotype. This could lead to therapeutic treatments that retrain and aid the body’s natural immune system to fight cancer.
