Description / Abstract
With the fast-paced evolution of antibiotic-resistant bacteria around the globe comes the emergence of novel genes which confer these resistances, usually located on supplemental DNA known as plasmids. The goal of this study was to characterize unknown gene, eamA, a hypothesized drug/metabolite exporter, from environmental plasmid pTRE-2011 in order to deduce its role in antibiotic resistance.
